Draw-Tite 45509 Class V 2-1/2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Fits

2011 and newer models - Rear spring hanger brackets must be mounted above the frame or hitch cannot be installed.
There have been isolated cases of trucks with optional bottom of rear frame spring shackle mounts. These bottom of frame shackle mounts will not allow the hitch to be installed. Inspect truck for these shackles before ordering hitch. See diagram top left corner of sheet 3 of the 45509 instructions, this diagram shows a top of frame mounted spring shackle that is required for hitch to install.
Product Details
Class V hitches are very similar to Class III & IV hitches except for the weight ratings. Class V hitches are Weight Carrying (WC) and Weight Distributing (WD) hitches. Class V hitches used as Weight Carrying are rated up to 20,000 lbs. Gross Trailer Weight (WCGTW) with a maximum trailer Tongue Weight (WCTW) of 2,700 lbs.
Hitches that are used for Weight Distributing are rated up to 20,000 lbs. Gross Trailer Weight (WDGTW) with a maximum trailer Tongue Weight (WDTW) of 2,700 lbs. Please see the Specification tab above for the weight ratings of this hitch.
This style of hitch uses a 2-1/2" square receiver opening. The use of a ball mount and hitch ball of the same rating or higher is required. To use the weight distribution side of the hitch a weight distribution system is required. Class V hitches attach to the vehicle frame only.
2011 and newer models - Rear spring hanger brackets must be mounted above the frame or hitch cannot be installed.

- Includes 2 & 4 WD models with heavy duty suspension. 3/4 and 1 ton vehicles only.
- Will not fit models with 34 inch wide frames.
- Hitch crosstube is visible beneath bumper
- Requires removal of factory hitch if equipped
- With this hitch installed the step bumper is no longer able to be used as a towing point.
